Gruber Prize for Cosmology
The Gruber Cosmology Prize has been awarded by the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation since 2000 and has been supported by the International Astronomical Union since 2001 .
The Cosmology Prize is awarded to a leading cosmologist , astronomer , astrophysicist or philosopher of science for making fundamental theoretical, analytical or conceptual discoveries that lead to significant advances in the field. Like the other Gruber prizes , it is associated with a gold medal and prize money of $ 500,000 (as of 2012).
