Carl Gustaf Hammarsten (born September 2, 1967 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish actor.

Life

Hammarsten studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York in 1989/90 and at the Stockholm Theater School from 1990 to 1994 . Since the beginning of the 1990s he can be seen in the theater and in television productions and films. He became known in 2000 for the role of Göran in Lukas Moodysson's Together! ( Tillsammans ). For the leading role in Lisa Ohlins Tillflassung fru sökes , he received the award for best actor at the 11th Women's Film Festival ( Festival Internazionale Cinema delle Donne ) in Turin in 2004 . His first leading role in an international production was that of Lutz in Sacha Baron Cohen's Brüno in 2009 .

Hammarsten belongs to the ensemble of the Stockholm Stadsteater . He is married and has two children.
