Gustav Botz

Gustav Botz (born May 17, 1857 , † April 6, 1932 in Berlin ) was a German actor who was mainly seen in batch roles .

Life

Botz made his theater debut in Kaiserslautern in 1884 and appeared on stages in Bromberg , Frankfurt (Oder) , Koblenz (there also as a director), Basel , Dresden , Augsburg , Magdeburg and Breslau . From 1909 he lived in Berlin, where he was active for 16 years with the Meinhardt-Bernauer-Bühnen.

He starred in many film classics, especially the 1920s . Botz had suffered from an eye disease since the early 1920s. In 1925 the disease was so advanced that he completely withdrew from the theater and film business. He died almost blind in Berlin in 1932 . He was married to the actress Elisabeth Botz .
