Gustav von Bezold (Ministerial Counselor)
Gustav Bezold , from 1840 by Bezold , (born November 23, 1810 in Ansbach ; † November 14, 1885 in Munich ) was a royal Bavarian government official and founding president of the German Alpine Club (DAV).
family
Bezold was the offspring of a Lower Franconian family, the Rothenburg patrician family Bezold, which had already ramified in the 14th century . He was the son of Daniel Gustav von Bezold (1783–1870), Privy Councilor in the Bavarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Maria Eva Theresa born. Boveri (1789-1827).
Gustav von Bezold married Luise Mayer on June 8, 1847 at Harburg Castle , the daughter of a princely oettingen-wallerstein officer.
The historian Friedrich von Bezold was his son.
career
In 1831 Bezold was responsible for statistics in the police section of the royal Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior .
Bezold was raised to the personal Bavarian nobility on January 2, 1840 with the award of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown , and three years later on March 9, 1843 in Munich as a royal Bavarian ministerial advisor in the Ministry of the Royal House and Foreign Affairs, he received Bavarian nobility recognition (hereditary nobility ) with registration in the Bavarian aristocratic register on May 19, 1843.
Around 1864 Gustav von Bezold was Ministerialrat in the royal Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior. Most recently he was Ministerialrat in the royal Bavarian Ministry of Culture .
Alpine Club
Bezold was the founding president of the German Alpine Club from 1869 to 1870 and Executive Board member of the Munich Alpine Club section from 1869 to 1875.
At his suggestion , a first refuge was built in 1883 on the Toten Mann , a panoramic mountain near Ramsau in the Berchtesgaden Alps . The reason was that Bezold was surprised by the thunderstorm on a hike to the Dead Man and found no way to shelter anywhere. The hut is considered to be the first refuge in the Berchtesgaden Alps and was named " Bezoldhütte " in his honor by the German Alpine Association . A new building at the same location has been preserved to this day.
Bezold left behind numerous drawings and watercolors that he created on his mountain tours. He also created the first mountain panorama, which he created with the help of the albertotype .
