history

Gutendorf was first mentioned in a document from Landgrave Friedrich II of Thuringia in 1342 and belonged to the Tonndorf rule . With this, the place came to the city of Erfurt as a Mainz fief in 1346 after the Thuringian Count's War . The affiliation with Gutendorf subsequently changed between Saxony (1592) and Erfurt (1680). From 1815 the place was part of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . In 1922 the place was incorporated into the district of Weimar and after 1945 with the state of Thuringia it became part of the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR . With the re-division of the state of Thuringia in 1950/52 into the districts of Erfurt, Gera and Suhl, Gutendorf in the district of Erfurt was assigned to the district of Weimar-Land. Since 1990 the place belongs to the newly founded state of Thuringia. On December 1, 2008, he was incorporated into the city of Bad Berka. The district mayor is currently Bodo Wolf.

Culture and sights

The Protestant branch church is a plastered, massive choir tower church and its core is probably from the 13th century. It was repaired in 1692. Here one raised the tower and provided it with a tent roof . Inside, the building was redesigned in Baroque style in 1714 . It contains a wooden barrel , a pulpit altar and a wooden baptismal font (probably 1714). The walled churchyard is according to an inscription from 1696.
