Guus Til (born December 22, 1997 in Samfya ) is a Dutch football player who is used as a midfielder. He has played for AZ Alkmaar since his youth and has been part of the professional team since the 2016/17 season.

Career

Til was born in Zambia to Dutch parents and later lived in Mozambique , where his father worked as a development worker. At the age of three he came to Amsterdam , where his parents settled in the Bijlmer district. He first played at SV Diemen before moving to the AZ Alkmaar junior academy. After he had outgrown the youth teams, he made his debut on August 4, 2016 in a 2-1 win in the second leg in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against PAS Giannina in the professional team. At the end of the season he finished sixth in the table with AZ Alkmaar and was eliminated in the play-offs for participation in the Europa League qualification against FC Utrecht . In the following season Til was third with AZ Alkmaar at the end of the season.

National team

Til played six games for the Dutch U20 and made his debut for the Dutch U21 national team on March 27, 2017 in a 1-0 draw at a four-nation tournament in Spain against Austria . On March 26, 2018, Til played for the first time for the Dutch senior team in the 3-0 win in Lancy in the Swiss canton of Geneva against Portugal .
