Selimchan Jabrailovich Bakayev ( Russian Зелимхан Джабраилович Бакаев ; English transcription: Zelimkhan Dzhabrailovich Bakayev ; born July 1, 1996 in Nazran , Ingushetia ) is a Russian football player of Ingush descent. The winger currently plays for the first division club Spartak Moscow and has been the Russian national player since October 2019 .

Career

Bakayev comes from Spartak Moscow's youth department . He made his debut in April 2014 in the reserve team Spartak-2 Moscow, where he subsequently played for three seasons. He made his first team debut on September 23, 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Denis Gluschakow in the 65th minute of the 7-0 away win against Volga Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian Cup . In the top Russian league , he made his debut on July 23, 2017 (2nd matchday) in a 0-0 draw against FK Ufa , when he started and was substituted for Lorenzo Melgarejo in the second half . In this 2017/18 season he was a regular member of the matchday squad and played five league games.

On August 8, 2019, he scored his first two goals for the first team in a 3-2 home win against FC Thun in qualifying for the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League . Three days later he scored another brace in a 3-1 away win against Achmat Grozny.

National team

From November 2016 to October 2018, Selimchan Bakayev played 15 times for the Russian U21 national team and scored six goals.

On October 13, 2019, he made his debut in a 5-0 away win against Cyprus in qualifying for the European Championship 2021 for the A-selection when he came on in the 78th minute for Alexei Ionow .
