Lorenzo Antonio Melgarejo Sanabria (born August 10, 1990 in Loma Grande , Paraguay ) usually called Lorenzo Melgarejo or Melgarejo , is a Paraguayan football player . He has been playing for Spartak Moscow since 2016 and is very versatile.

Career

Melgarejo began his professional football career in 2009 when he played for the Paraguayan club Club 12 de Octubre de Itaugua . After a year he moved to Olimpia Asunción before moving to the Independiente FBC . It was here that the Portuguese club Benfica Lisbon became aware of him, which then signed him for four years.

After the transfer, Melgarejo was loaned to FC Paços de Ferreira without having played a league game . in his debut game in a 2-1 home win for FC Paços de Ferreira against União de Leiria , he scored his first goal for his club. For the 2012/13 season Melgarejo returned to Benfica Lisbon. At Benfica he is mostly used as a left full -back. In his first game after his return against Sporting Braga , he made an own goal. He made 21 appearances throughout the season at Benfica and scored two goals. In the Champions League he came to eight inserts while - after the third place in the Champions League group stage - in the Europa League came to eight inserts. Benfica reached the Europa League final, which was lost 2-1 to Chelsea . Melgarejo was used in the final.

Melgarejo signed a four-year contract with Russian first division club FK Kuban Krasnodar on September 2nd . This transfer cost the club around five million euros. in February 2016 he moved to league rivals Spartak Moscow .
