Alexander Wladimirowitsch Maximenko ( Russian Александр Владимирович Максименко ; English transcription: Aleksandr Vladimirovich Maksimenko ; born March 19, 1998 in Rostov-on-Don ) is a Russian football goalkeeper who is under contract with the first division club Spartak Moscow . He has been the Russian U21 international since September 2018 .

Career

society

Born in Rostov-on-Don , Alexander Maximenko began playing football at Lokomotiv Rostov at the age of nine and moved four years later to Ivan Savidi's Akademija Futbola Rostov . In 2013 he joined the youth department of the Spartak Moscow capital club . In the 2015/16 season he was already a substitute goalkeeper in the reserve team Spartak-2. For the first time in the matchday squad of the first team he was at the age of 18 in the 2-5 away defeat on April 16, 2016 (24th matchday) against Zenit St. Petersburg . He made his debut at Spartak-2 in the second-highest Russian division on August 13, 2016 (7th matchday) in the 3-2 home defeat against FK Tyumen . He played a total of four league games this 2016/17 season .

In the following Perwenstwo FNL 2017/18 he was already number one at Spartak-2, but was also often with the first team on the reserve bench, which is why he missed many league games. On October 25, 2017, he made his first-team debut in a 5-2 cup win over Spartak Nalchik . It wasn't enough for more appearances with the men this season, because he couldn't get past the goalkeeper Alexander Selichow and his replacement Artyom Rebrow . For Spartak-2 he completed 20 league games.

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season , he benefited from Selichov's injury-related loss and moved into the starting line-up before the experienced rebrow. He played his first game in the top Russian division on July 28, 2018 (1st matchday) in a 1-0 home win against FK Orenburg . At the end of the first half of the season he was ousted by Rebrow and the first five league games of the second half of the season started the recovered Selichow, who, however , injured himself again in the 0-2 home defeat against rivals PFK CSKA Moscow on April 6, 2019 (22nd matchday) and through Maximenko was replaced. He was a regular goalkeeper until the end of the season and finished with 23 appearances in the league and nine more appearances in cup competitions.

In the following Premjer-Liga 2019/20 he retained his status as first goalkeeper. He established himself next to Matwei Safonow as the second great Russian goalkeeper talent.

National team

In January 2015 Maximenko played for the Russian U17 national team for the first time . With this selection he took part in the U17 European Championships in Bulgaria in May 2015 . There he played all five games and was eliminated with Russia in the semi-finals against Germany . In October of the same year he was also in action at the U17 World Cup in Chile and played all four games. Subsequently, his career in the U17 ended after 21 internationals in ten months.

From August 2015 to April 2016 he played seven test matches in the U18 . Between September and October 2016, he worked six times for the U19s .

Alexander Maximenko has been the Russian U21 international since September 2018, but was most recently only the second choice behind Matwei Safonov.
