Ezequiel Ponce Martínez (born March 29, 1997 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player of Italian - Spanish origin. The striker is under contract with Spartak Moscow .
Career
societies
Ponce joined Newell's Old Boys from Rosario Sur in 2005 . On October 5, 2013, at the age of 16, he came to his first appearance in the Argentine Primera División in a 2-0 win at Quilmes AC , making him the youngest debutant in the club's history. On March 14, 2014, he ran for the first time in the Copa Libertadores in a 0-0 win against Gremio Porto Alegre . His first league goal he scored two days later to 1-0 lead after 11 minutes in a 2-0 home win against Racing Club de Avellaneda and became the fifth youngest scorer in the Argentine Primera División.
Due to the strong performances at his young age, several top European clubs became aware of the striker in late 2014 . On January 15, 2015 AS Roma confirmed Ponce's commitment. He played for Newell's Old Boys at the beginning of the 2015 season and switched to the Italian Serie A on August 31, 2015 . With the A-youth of the Romans he played for the first time in the UEFA Youth League in a 0-0 draw against BATE Baryssau on September 29, 2015 . In the group stage he scored three goals in four appearances.
For the 2016/17 season , Ponce was awarded for one year to the Spanish first division club Granada CF. There he was used in 25 league games and scored two goals. The season 2017/18 played Ponce on loan at Lille in Ligue 1 . For the 2018/19 season he was loaned to AEK Athens , where he scored 16 goals in 27 league games. Then Ponce moved to Spartak Moscow .
National team
Ponce took part in the U20 World Cup in South Korea with the Argentine U20 national team in May 2017 . He was used in all three group games of his team, which ended the group as third in the table and was eliminated.
