Gwen Stacy is an American Christian metalcore band from the US state of Indiana , named after the character of the same name, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Stacy from the Spider-Man comics .
Band history
The band was formed in 2004 by Brent Schindler and TJ Sego with the two other members Chris Suter and Josh Rickard. After the band had released three demos with no further success and the singer Chris Suter had since left the band and been replaced by Cole Wallace, the band took up in 2007 with the support of Brian McTernan ( Circa Survive , Thrice , Converge ) and Paul Leavitt ( All Time Low , The Bled , From Autumn to Ashes ) released their first album The Life I Know , which was marketed under Ferret Records in February 2008 . The band sold over 16,000 CDs in the USA and Canada alone . Long tours through North America followed with bands such as 36 Crazyfists , Haste the Day and The Devil Wears Prada . In addition, the Gwen Stacy completed a tour across Europe .
Due to the great success with her debut album The Life I Know , Gwen Stacy caught the attention of the Christian metal label Solid State Records . After signing a contract with this, the band returned to their roots and took the previous singer Geoff Jenkins back into the band. In the summer of 2009, the band began working on their second album, A Dialogue , which hit stores under Solid State Records in October of the same year. It was accompanied and produced by Andreas Magnusson, a musician friend of the also Christian band Haste the Day.
