The Hüfihütte is a mountain hut that belongs to the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) section Pilatus . It is usually manned from the beginning of June to the end of September. It is located at 2337 m above sea level. M. far back in the Maderaner Valley , over the tongue of the Hüfigletscher and over the Hüfisee .

You can reach the Hüfihütte from Amsteg in the Reuss Valley via a road to Bristen and from there via mountain paths in the Maderaner Valley along the Chärstelenbach .

Club hut Hüfiälpeli around 1876

The first Hüfihütte at its current location was built in 1899. It replaced a smaller hut built in 1873 on the Hüfiälpli. The now existing mountain hut was built in 1937. In 2014, the Pilatus SAC section held a competition to build a new house. The hut was extensively renovated in summer 2018.

Tours

From the Hüfihütte, high-altitude tours in the Glarus Alps are possible, especially the route over the Clariden Pass to Linthal in the canton of Glarus or the tours on the Clariden and the Gross Schärhorn . A transition leads over the Hüfifirn and the Fuorcla da Cavrein in the Canton of Graubünden to Disentis .
