HOME studios

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HOME studios ("House Of Music & Entertainment") are the largest recording studio complex in Hamburg . The founder and owner is the German music producer Franz Plasa .

General

The studio is located in the Hamburg district of Eimsbüttel. It has existed since the 1980s. Initially under the name "Chateau Du Pape". In 1998 it was taken over by Plasa, reconfigured and quickly achieved first successes with productions for Echt and Selig (including number 1 in the German album charts with the album “Freischwimmer” by Echt ). Other in-house productions include a .: Udo Lindenberg , Nena , the soundtrack "Sonnenallee" and the soundtrack "Knockin 'On Heaven's Door". In addition, artists such as Eminem , Mariah Carey , Xavier Naidoo , Herbert Grönemeyer and Lauryn Hill recorded in the HOME studios. The band Depeche Mode recorded parts of their album "Faith and Devotion" on the premises.

Sound engineers Peter Schmidt ( Peter Fox , Reamonn , Beatsteaks ) and producers and songwriters Philipp Schwär ( Elif , Fayzen , Cäthe ) and Benni Dernhoff ( Johannes Oerding , Namika , Peter Maffay ) also come from the Plasas and HOME studios .

Today the studio produces artists for the affiliated label "Bring Me Home" as well as for all common companies from the music, film and advertising industries.

Furnishing

The HOME studios are built according to the room-in-room principle and are therefore acoustically decoupled. The HOME studios accommodate several smaller studios and pre-production rooms, as well as two large studios with separate recording and control rooms. Both studios are equipped with mixing consoles from Solid State Logic . The direction of Studio 1 as well as the accompanying large monitors were designed by Roger Quested. Recording room 1 was built by acoustician Wolfgang Jensen. Connected to both sound studios are two 9 m³ tiled rooms, which can be used differently with acoustics created specially by tiles and mirrors.
