HP Daniels
HP Daniels (born November 3, 1951 in Munich ) is a German writer, musician and journalist.
life and work
After graduating from high school, HP Daniels studied in Frankfurt / M. German studies and political science at the Free University of Berlin . He completed his studies with a master's thesis on the subject: The influence of modern American poetry on Rolf Dieter Brinkmann's poems .
Even during his studies he performed as a singer / songwriter . After graduating in 1980, he founded the rock band The Escalatorz , with whom he gave concerts as a singer and guitarist and released various records. He also wrote most of the songs for the band.
He also worked as an author of short stories, short stories and reports for various radio stations, newspapers, magazines and anthologies. He worked as a music critic for Tip Berlin for many years , and from 1998 to 2016 for the Berliner Tagesspiegel .
For his literary work he received the Alfred Döblin scholarship from the Academy of Arts in 1991, a scholarship from the Berlin Senate for Culture in 1992, and scholarships from the Berlin Artists' Fund in 1993 and 1994.
In 2019 he published his first novel Runaway . in the Berlin Transit Verlag
