Got Jifar
Habte Jifar (born January 29, 1976 in Ambo ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .
He won a medal a total of five times with the Ethiopian team at the World Cross Country Championships : bronze in 1996 and 1997, silver in 1998, 1999 and 2002. His best individual placement was a ninth place in 1999.
At the Pan-African Games he won silver over 5000 m and 10,000 m and in 1999 bronze over 10,000 m. At the World Athletics Championships he was seventh in Athens in 1997 , sixth in Seville in 1999 and ninth in Edmonton in 2001 .
He then began a career as a marathon runner . In 2004 he was third in the Leipzig Marathon , in 2005 seventh in the Hamburg Marathon and third in the Cologne Marathon and in 2006 fifth in the Los Angeles Marathon .
