The Hacken and Rottauer Filz nature reserve is located in the area of the Grassau market in the Traunstein district in Upper Bavaria . It is part of the EU bird sanctuary “Moore south of the Chiemsee” (DE-8141-471) and part of the FFH area “Moore south of the Chiemsee” (8140-371).
The 364 hectare area with the number NSG-00373.01, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends north of Rottau , a district of Grassau. The 79.9 km² Chiemsee extends to the north . The A 8 runs north and west and the B 305 to the south . The 744.5 hectare nature reserve Kendlmühlfilzen extends to the east .
