Hackendorf is a church village , a village and a cadastral the municipality Sankt Aegidi in Innviertel in the western Upper Austria . Hackendorf is the largest of the approximately 30 villages in the municipality after the main town, which is 3 km away.

The place is located at 605 m above sea level, only 5 km south of the Danube in a hill country on the southern flank of the Sauwald . The church and the place were built on a gentle southern slope above the valley of the Feichtbach and the Kesselbach. The most striking elevation in the area is the Feichtberg, at a height of 777 m, 1.5 km to the west in the municipality of Kopfing im Innkreis , the radar station of which is clearly visible.

In addition to the village of Hackendorf, the Rotte Kiriau also belongs to the locality , the cadastral community also includes the localities of Eben, Reiting, Zimmerleiten, Mühlbach and Flenkental.

The major part of the town hall is used for agriculture and makes up about a fifth of the agricultural area of ​​the municipality of St. Aegidi. About a third of the area is forested.

The surrounding villages are (counting clockwise from the north) Reiting, Kiriau, Kößlau, Höllau, Reisedt and Walleiten. To the west lie Paulsdorf and the hamlet Feicht, which already belong to the neighboring municipality of Kopfing in the Innkreis.
