Hadley Fraser (* 21st April 1980 actually Robert Hugh Fraser ) is an English theater and film actor, director and musician.

Life

Hadley Fraser grew up in the small town of Binfield near Windsor . He studied at the University of Birmingham, from which he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts . He then completed a vocal course from 2001 to 2002 at the music theater of the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2011 he became a member of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).

Hadley Fraser made his debut as a musical singer immediately after completing his studies in 2002 as Marius in Les Misérables at the Palace Theater in London. He made his debut on Broadway in New York in 2007 in the role of Tiernan in the world premiere of The Pirate Queen by the musical team of authors Alain Boublil / Claude-Michel Schönberg . Other stages in his musical stage career include The Pirates of Penzance , Palace of the Winds , the Stephen Sondheim musicals Assassins and Pacific Overtures as well as the chamber musical The Last 5 Years at the Aspen Theater, Colorado.

In May 2010 Hadley Fraser returned to London's West End with the musical The Fantasticks . In October 2010 he played the role of Grantaire at the big 25th anniversary concert of Les Misérables at The O2 Arena London. From June 2011 to June 2012 he took on another role in Les Misérables , this time as Inspector Javert . During this engagement he also sang the role of Raoul in October 2011 in the 25th anniversary concert of The Phantom of the Opera in the Royal Albert Hall in London - a role he had never played before. In Tom Hooper's adaptation of the film Les Misérables , he played the officer of the National Guard ( "The Warning" ) in a minor supporting role .

In 2013 he played in the musical The Pajama Game at the Chichester Festival . He then starred in the world premiere of Matt Charman's play The Machine , which featured Garri Kimowitsch Kasparov 's 1997 chess game against the computer, Deep Blue , and performed the play first at the Manchester International Festival and later that year in New York. In December 2013, Hadley Fraser starred opposite Tom Hiddleston and Mark Gatiss in William Shakespeare's play Coriolanus at Donmar Warehouse in the role of Tullus Aufidius . Josie Rourke , the artistic director of the Covent Garden Theater, had already engaged Hadley Fraser for his role in The Machine and worked with him again in 2015 at Donmar Warehouse ( City of Angels , The Vote ). From October 2015 Hadley Fraser was seen alongside Kenneth Branagh at the Garrick Theater ( A Winter's Tale and Harlequinade ). Most recently he celebrated great success in the role of Frederick Frankenstein in the England premiere of Mel Brook's musical Young Frankenstein in August 2017 at the Garrick Theater in London.

His film and television roles include the US film productions The Lost Tribe and Convincing Clooney , the first season of the musical children's series The Fresh Beat Band and an episode of the British television series Doctor Who . Hadley Fraser gained his first experience as a director at the Norris Theater, Los Angeles, in the productions Once Upon a Mattress and The Laramie Project .

As a singer, Hadley Fraser can be heard on the albums Keys and Scott Alan LIVE by the American songwriter Scott Alan and on the concept album of the musical The In-Between . In August 2014 Hadley Fraser released his first own short album Just let go with five self-written and composed songs. Together with his friend and stage partner in various musicals ( Les Misérables , The Phantom of the Opera ) Ramin Karimloo , he has a band called Sheytoons , which occasionally appears in public in London.
