The crime series Hafenpolizei mainly takes place in the port city of Hamburg . It was broadcast on German television ( Norddeutsche Werbefernsehen und Werbefunk GmbH ) in the mid-1960s in the early evening program of ARD .

The focus is on the criminal police team around Commissioner Peters, who work hand in hand with the water police , represented here by the team around Police Master Lühr, who solve the cases. The series ran over three seasons of 13 episodes each. The first episode, Marijuana, gives a drastic insight into the contemporary drug problem. The port police were replaced by the series Police Radio calls , which in turn was replaced by Hamburg Transit .

Since the series played and was shot in Hamburg, actors from the Ohnsorg Theater ensemble such as Heidi Kabel , Erna Raupach-Petersen , Hilde Sicks , Karl-Heinz Kreienbaum and Werner Riepel appeared in each episode . From the ensemble of the Thalia Theater one saw next to the artistic director Willy Maertens u. a. his wife Charlotte Kramm and Erwin Linder .
