Hallock is located in northwest Minnesota, not far from the border with Canada in the north and North Dakota in the west. The place is located at 48 ° 46'28 "north latitude, 96 ° 56'47" west longitude and extends over 5.44 km².

In north-south direction, US Highway 75 is the main road through Hallock. Minnesota State Route 175 crosses downtown . All other roads are subordinate and partly unpaved roads as well as inner-city connecting roads.
