reception

The film has so far convinced 99 percent of all Rotten Tomatoes critics and received an average rating of 9.2 out of a possible 10 points.

Christian Eichler from the online magazine ze.tt writes in his review that it is immediately understandable why Hamilton has become such a phenomenon: “For two and a half hours there is singing and rapping at a brilliant pace, characters appear like the waves of the sea, are dated again Ensemble entwined, the wooden stage turns at breathtaking speed, each figure has its own will and its own grandiose musical motif. At some point these motifs overlap, a character sings two lines of his theme in a completely different song and we immediately know how he or she must be feeling right now. "
