Renée Elise Goldsberry
Renée Elise Goldsberry (born January 2, 1971 ) is an American actress and singer .
biography
Gold Berry grew up with three brothers in Houston ( Texas ) and Detroit ( Michigan on). She attended Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills , a wealthy small town near Detroit. After graduating high school, she studied at the Carnegie Mellon University drama ( theater ) and graduated with a bachelor. She then completed a master's degree in jazz singing ( vocal jazz performance ) at the University of Southern California .
In 1995 Goldsberry formed the Duo Isaac together with Andreas Geck. With the song I Never written by them together, they won the 1997 John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the rock category. In the same year, she began to appear as a backing singer for Vonda Shepard on the television series Ally McBeal . Since then she has appeared on television in various series in guest roles, including Providence (2002), Any Day Now (2002) Star Trek: Enterprise (2002), Life on Mars (2008), Royal Pains (2010), White Collar ( 2010), Running Wild (2010), The Following (2013) and Masters of Sex (2014). She was best known on television for her portrayal of Evangeline Williamson in the soap opera Love, Lies, Passion (1999-2007) and the role of prosecutor Geneva Pine in the law series Good Wife , which she impersonated from 2010 to 2016. From 2018 to 2020 she played the role of scientist and revolutionary Quellchrist Falconer in two seasons of the science fiction series Altered Carbon - The Immortal Program.
For her performance as Angelica Schuyler Church in the Broadway -Stück Hamilton won 2,016 each to Tony Award and Drama Desk Award as best supporting actress in a musical. She also embodied this role in the 2020 film version of the musical.
Goldsberry was previously seen in a number of mostly minor supporting roles in the cinema , and she played a leading role in the romantic comedy All About You (2002).
Goldsberry married Alexis Johnson, a lawyer, in 2002 and had a son in May 2009. In 2014 the couple adopted a daughter from Africa. Goldsberry lives with her family in New York.
