The Town of Haney is located in southwest Wisconsin and is traversed by the Kickapoo River , a right tributary of the Wisconsin River which flows into the Mississippi . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota is about 40 km to the northwest.

Wisconsin State Highway 131 runs through the town in a north-south direction . In addition, the County Highways E and S run through the Town of Haney. All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
With Boscobel Airport there is a small airfield around 20 to the southeast. The nearest commercial airports are Dubuque Regional Airport in Iowa (around 110 km south), La Crosse Regional Airport (around 100 km north-northwest) and Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 140 km east).
