The Town of Marietta is located in southwest Wisconsin, on the north bank of the Wisconsin River , a left tributary of the Mississippi . This forms the approximately 40 km west of the border with Iowa . To the west, the town borders the Kickapoo River . After Minnesota there are 75 km to the northwest; the border with Illinois runs 85 south.

US Highway 61 runs through the town in a north-south direction . The Wisconsin State Highway 60 runs along the Wisconsin River, while the Wisconsin State Highway 131 runs through the west of the area of the Town of Marietta in a north-south direction . All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
With the Boscobel Airport there is a small airfield around 10 to the east. The nearest commercial airports are Dubuque Regional Airport in Iowa (around 105 km south), La Crosse Regional Airport (around 120 km north-northwest) and Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 130 km east).
