Hannes Rader

Hannes Rader (born July 19, 1940 in Linz ) is an Austrian set designer and illustrator .

Live and act

After graduating from the Kunstgewerbeschule Linz , subject commercial graphics , Rader studied from 1959 to 1962 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the master class of the German-Austrian set designer Caspar Neher . Rader then completed an apprenticeship in the theater studies seminar under Joseph Gregor , one of the leading theater scholars of his time, and Margret Dietrich , the longstanding collaborator of the Austrian theater researcher and successor to Heinz Kindermann at the University of Vienna .

Via the Austrian painter Herbert Boeckl , Rader found access to nude art , in particular to life drawing . During this time internships, especially those at the Vienna State Opera with Robert Kautsky and at the Vienna Volksoper with Walter von Hoesslin , significantly shaped Rader's further artistic and professional work.

Rader designed numerous illustrations for books and magazines, was a lecturer at the University of Klagenfurt and now lives in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee .
