Hans-Günter Rolff

Hans-Günter Rolff (* 1939 ) is a German educational scientist and emeritus professor for school education at the University of Dortmund . He has worked primarily in the field of school development research and school development.

Rolff put 1959 on the Scharnhorst School in Hildesheim the High School from. After studying at the Free University of Berlin , he worked as a freelancer at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and in 1968 and 1970 consultant and then head of planning for the Berlin School Senator . In 1973 he founded the Institute for School Development Research at the University of Dortmund. He also worked on the Experimental Committee of the German Education Council . Since 1970 he has held the professorship for school education in Dortmund. Rolff was also a visiting professor at Stanford University and had visiting professorships at the universities of Vienna , Graz , Klagenfurt and Zurich .

Rolff worked as an expert reviewer for the German Research Foundation . He was the spokesman for the Sociology of Education section at the German Society for Sociology and chaired the Commission for Educational Organization, Planning and Law at the German Society for Educational Science . Rolff worked as a liaison professor at the Hans Böckler Foundation .

Rolff created a number of school development plans for German cities and districts, including Berlin , Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf . In addition, the scientist has worked for many years in the advanced training of teachers, school principals, school development supervisors and school supervisors as well as in the technical and practical support of individual schools and school authorities. In North Rhine-Westphalia , Rolff was a member of the Prime Minister's “Future of Schools” advisory board and initiated a quality award; in Lower Saxony he was a member of the Education Council.

Rolff supported the restructuring of the upper level college in Bielefeld and was the godfather of the Kleine Kielstrasse elementary school in Dortmund, which won the main prize of the 2006 German School Prize . In 2005 he founded the Dortmund Academy for Educational Managers , of which he was the scientific director. He is also the scientific director of the distance learning master’s degree in School Management at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern .

Rolff developed a basic model for educational quality management (PQM) and accompanied it in schools abroad.

He evaluated the INIS (International Network of Innovative Schools), the Lower Saxony quality networks and, together with Johannes Bastian, the model project School & Co. - Strengthening schools in the municipal and regional environment in North Rhine-Westphalia. He also designed a meta-evaluation of the Zurich QUIMS network (“Quality in multicultural schools”). Rolff also works in North Rhine-Westphalia as co-head of the scientific support for the model project independent school .

Rolff founded and heads the multinational school development network (previously “Organizational Development of Schools”), in which Germans, Austrians and Swiss take part. He is also a co-founder of the German-Austrian-Swiss network system control and school development .

Awards

In 2011 Rolff received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class.
