Hans-Hermann Tiedje

Hans-Hermann Tiedje (born April 10, 1949 in Schleswig ) is a German journalist and media manager .

Journalistic career

After dropping out of law studies and a subsequent traineeship at Hamburger Abendblatt , Tiedje was editor of the world from 1975 , from 1980 to 1986 at Burda ( Bunte ), then deputy head of Bild (1986 to 1988), editor-in-chief of Bunten (1988/1989) and also a moderator the NDR talk show .

From 1989 he was editor-in-chief at Bild, which he shared with Peter Bartels as an equal partner for some time . Tiedje became known through a title page from 1991, which showed the then Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl rotated by 90 degrees and headlined with the headline Der Umfaller . Tiedje came under public criticism when, on October 8, 2012, in a guest commentary in the Bild newspaper, he defended the SPD politician Peer Steinbrück as a guest speaker because of controversial fees and railed against the “culture of envy” without revealing his being Company WMP Eurocom Peer Steinbrück had also mediated.

Other activities

In 1996 Tiedje founded TV Media Medienmanagement GmbH in Ebersberg near Munich, which in 2000 became a subsidiary of the communications consulting company WMP Eurocom AG. There he was, now an anchor shareholder , member of the board since 2000 and chairman of the board from April 2004 to 2015. He has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board since July 2015.

In 1998, Tiedje was appointed personal advisor to the then Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl in his last election campaign. He is a member of various committees, including deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Marseille-Kliniken AG . After the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on October 3, 2016 , he sharply criticized the refugee policy of Chancellor Angela Merkel in the Phoenix Round , which he held responsible for the CDU's heavy losses in the past elections.

The internet blog Axis des Guten occasionally takes on articles from Tiedje that are published in other media, e.g. B. in the NZZ and Euro am Sonntag were published.
