Hans-Otto Mühleisen

Hans-Otto Mühleisen (born December 2, 1941 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Hans-Otto Mühleisen studied political science and history at the University of Freiburg after graduating from Kepler-Gymnasium in Freiburg from 1961 . In 1970 he received his doctorate from Dieter Oberndörfer . He then worked as an assistant at the University of Freiburg and completed his habilitation in 1978. From 1981 until his retirement in 2007 he was Professor of Political Science at the University of Augsburg . He is a member of the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute for Cultural Studies Research eV at the University of Freiburg and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Freiburg Community Foundation.

In addition to his work as a political scientist, he has emerged primarily through publications on the history of the south-west of Germany, in particular the monastery of St. Peter in the Black Forest and its surroundings.

honors and awards

The theological faculty of the University of Lucerne awarded Mühleisen an honorary doctorate in 2007 . In February 2010 he was awarded the New Year's Eve . The parish of St. Peter made him an honorary citizen in November 2019.
