Friedemann Maurer

Friedemann Maurer (born June 3, 1940 in Hausen ob Verena ) is a German educator .

Life

After graduating from high school in Tuttlingen , Maurer studied pedagogy, philosophy and history at the Pedagogical Institute Weingarten and the University of Tübingen . In 1967 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD.

In 1967/68 he was a research assistant at the University of Tübingen, and from 1968 to 1979 he was professor for school education at the Reutlingen University of Education . In 1972 he was visiting professor at the University of Education in Berlin and in 1989 at the University of Pittsburgh . He turned down calls to the PH Berlin (1973) and University of Paderborn (1979). From 1979 to 1983 he was professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig and from 1983 to 1987 at the University of Tübingen. From 1987 until his retirement he held the chair for pedagogy with a focus on elementary school didactics at the University of Augsburg .

He was u. a. Member of the "Teacher Education 2000" commission of the state of Baden-Württemberg . Maurer is head of the expert group for the cultural management course at the Ludwigsburg University of Education .

In 1984 the Hohenkarpfen Art Foundation was founded on his initiative, and he has been its chairman since then.

He is married and has two children.
