Hans Anetsberger
Hans Anetsberger (born October 28, 1870 in Munich , † December 22, 1942 in Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German portrait and landscape painter and professor at the Aachen School of Applied Arts .
Life
After graduating from secondary school, Hans Anetsberger studied at the Munich Art Academy and then set up a studio there. In 1893 he was awarded the Prix de Romes and in connection with this a study visit to Italy and later further trips to France , Spain , Morocco and Saint Petersburg in 1900/01. In the meantime, he repeatedly sent exhibitions and during these years was also responsible as an illustrator for the magazine Die Jugend and Simplicissimus .
On April 1, 1911, Anetsberger accepted a call to the arts and crafts school in Aachen , where he took over the painting and drawing class there and was appointed professor in 1925. In the same year Anetsberger illustrated the 2nd edition of the volume Aachen from the series Deutschlands Städtebau with 8 etchings . One year before the Werkkunstschule was closed in 1934 by the now ruling National Socialists , who had classified the art created there as degenerate , Anetsberger retired on March 31, 1933 . He then moved to Priem am Chiemsee , where he had set up a property with a studio and worked there until the end of his life.
