Shpejtim Arifi (born May 3, 1979 in Pristina , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar footballer .
Career
Arifi came to VfR Mannheim for the 2003/04 season via MSV Ludwigshafen and SV Weingarten . After just one year, the attacker moved to SV Sandhausen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . For the 2005/06 season, SSV Reutlingen finally secured the services of the offensive player. With them Arifi could win the Oberliga BW and one rose to the Regionalliga Süd . Nevertheless, he said goodbye and moved to FSV Oggersheim , with whom he was also promoted to the Regionalliga Süd. After he was still a regular at Oggersheim in the preseason, he was mostly used as a substitute in 2007/08. The following season, Iranian first division promoted Payam Mashhad lured him into the Iranian Pro League . There he was able to make a name for himself as the second goal scorer with 18 goals (behind Arash Borhani with 21 goals). In the summer of 2009 he signed a two-year contract with the top Iranian club Persepolis Tehran . With a transfer fee of $ 850,000, Arifi is the most expensive transfer in Iranian football history. However, he could not meet the high expectations. After his contract expired, he moved to league competitor Tractor Sazi Tabriz . After six months he moved to the second division club Abu Moslem Mashhad , where his contract was not renewed after the end of the season in April 2012. For the 2012/13 season he joined SVN Zweibrücken , but the contract was terminated after only six months. After being without a club for over a year, he briefly went to Borussia Neunkirchen for two months in 2014 . He was again without a club for over three years before his former club VfR Mannheim announced the signing of the now 38-year-old striker for the second team in October 2017.
