Hans Heinrich Curschmann (born August 14, 1875 in Berlin , † March 1, 1950 in Rostock ) was a German internist and university professor .

Life

Hans Curschmann was the son of the physician Heinrich Curschmann and his wife Margarethe geb. Lohde . From 1891 to 1895 he attended the Royal Gymnasium in Leipzig . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the University of Leipzig and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He was promoted to Dr. med. obtained his doctorate and worked from 1900 to 1907 in pathology at Leipzig University and in internal medicine in Heidelberg, Berlin and Tübingen.

In 1906 he completed his habilitation at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen . In 1907 he became chief physician for internal medicine at the Mainz City Hospital .

Since 1916 associate professor at the University of Rostock , he became full professor and director of the medical clinic in 1921 .

After Hans Curschmann and Hans Steinert (German internist, 1875-1911), myotonic dystrophy type 1 ( Myotonia dystrophica ) is also called Curschmann-Steinert's disease. As a collaborator, Curschmann was involved in the lexicon of the entire therapy .

The Curschmann Clinic in Timmendorfer Strand , a specialist clinic for heart attack follow-up care, has also been named after Hans Curschmann.

family

Curschmann married on June 17, 1907 in Tübingen with Klara Helene (Leni) Wendt (born July 10, 1884 in Jena , † July 17, 1972 in Lärz ), the daughter of law professor Otto Heinrich Gustav von Wendt . There are children from the marriage. We know of these:
