Hans Eibl

Hans Eibl (born June 12, 1936 in Obertrum , Land Salzburg ; † July 10, 2019 ) was an Austrian composer , conductor and clarinetist and from 1971 to 2000 military bandmaster.

Life

In 1957 he joined the Salzburg military band. At the same time he studied clarinet with Alois Heine as a major at the Mozarteum Music Academy in Salzburg and graduated in 1964. In 1967 he passed the military music director examination. In 1971 he was appointed military bandmaster of Lower Austria . In 1972 he took over as a conductor of the Tyrolean Military Music , which he directed until 2000.

In 1975 he became a lecturer in the wind orchestra course at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck . After studying at the University of Innsbruck and at the Mozarteum (Expositur Innsbruck) spondierte Eibl 1986 on the subject of the thesis The regimental band Tyrol 1918-1938 for Artium Magister . In 1998 he was elected regional music director of the Tyrolean brass band, a position he held until March 2007. On April 1, 2000, Hans Eibl retired as colonel and military bandmaster.
