Hans Georg Lüchinger (* 12. May 1927 in Zurich , † 24. August 2009 ) was a Swiss politician and lawyer , former FDP - National Council .

biography

Lüchinger was a citizen of Oberriet ( Canton St. Gallen ) and the city of Zurich. After studying law in Geneva , Rome and Zurich and the promotion he opened his law office in Zurich in 1956, where he 1958-1965 council was. After Rudolf Friedrich was elected to the National Council, Lüchinger took over the presidency of the Free Democratic Party of the Canton of Zurich in 1975 , which he held until 1982.

As a member of parliament, he was a member of the Zurich City Council from 1958–1965, the Zurich Cantonal Council from 1971–1979 and the National Council from 1979–1987. He was particularly interested in state policy, asylum, financial policy, tax policy, transport policy, and advocated the civil law reform and total revision of the federal constitution . Out of liberal conviction, he supported the introduction of the new partnership law. Lüchinger chaired the national council's preliminary advisory commission for the total revision of the federal constitution and was president of the initiative committees of five cantonal and federal popular initiatives for tax cuts.

Even after his retirement from parliament he worked as a journalist and continued to deal with problems of asylum policy, media policy and transport policy. From 1974 to 2004 he was President of the non-profit Paul Schiller Foundation. He also presided over the City Association of Zurich .
