Hans Heinrich Beyer

Hans Heinrich Beyer (born September 19, 1881 in Berlin , † March 5, 1964 in Göttingen ) was a German officer , most recently Major General of the Air Force in World War II .

Life

Early years and World War I

On March 1, 1901, Beyer joined the 3rd Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 50 as a flag boy . In this he was on 27 January 1903 a lieutenant , and on January 27, 1912 Lieutenant promoted. After the beginning of the First World War , a captain was appointed on November 8, 1914 and as such a company commander.

Interwar years

After the demobilization of his regiment, Beyer was accepted into the Provisional Reichswehr on October 1, 1919 and assigned to the Reichswehr Infantry Regiment 31 as a company commander. On January 1, 1920, he was transferred to the 17th Infantry Regiment . There he served first in the staff of the 2nd Battalion and then as a company commander. From May 1, 1925 to April 30, 1928 he served in the staff of the 3rd Division in Berlin , where he was promoted to major on February 1, 1926 . He was then appointed commander of the 1st Battalion of the 3rd (Prussian) Infantry Regiment stationed in Marienwerder . As such, he became lieutenant colonel on November 1, 1930 . On January 31, 1931 retired from active military service.

Just one month later, on March 1, 1931, Beyer was hired as an L officer and assigned as a welfare officer to Military District Command I in Allenstein . He held this position until the end of June 1936. As early as March 1, 1935, he joined the Air Force as an E-Officer (supplementary officer ) .

Second World War

From July 1, 1936 through the beginning of World War II to November 9, 1940, Beyer , who was promoted to colonel on January 1, 1937 and reactivated , acted as a consultant in the welfare and supply department at Military District Command III. On July 10, 1940, he was assigned to Luftwaffen-Bau-Regiment 1 in Wehrkreis XIII , in which he remained until January 14, 1941. He was then from January 15, 1941 to the end of October 1943, commander of Luftwaffe Construction Regiment 2 in Military District VI. On October 1, 1943, he was promoted to major general in this position. As such, Beyer resigned from military service at the end of the month.
