societies

Hans Klodt, the older step-brother of Bernhard , who became world champion with the senior national team in Switzerland in 1954 , began playing football at BV Gelsenkirchen . For the 1935/36 season he was committed by FC Schalke 04, for which he was active in the Gauliga Westfalen , one of 16 top divisions in Germany after the Nazi seizure of power , until the end of September 1944 . There he succeeded Hermann Mellage, who moved to Wuppertal. Due to the blocking period when changing clubs, he had to take a three-month break and was first used on January 17, 1937. As the first German club, he won the double , championship and cup victory in one season with FC Schalke 04 in 1937 . In 1942 and 1943 he was represented by Heinz Flotho due to a war injury and thus missed winning the championship in 1942 . After his recovery he took turns with Heinz Flotho - once Klodt in goal and Flotho in storm, the other way around in the next game. In these appearances Klodt scored a total of five goals in the Gauliga and in cup games. After the Second World War he played in the newly created top German league, the Oberliga , the 1947/48 season in the Oberliga West .

From 1948 to 1955 he was active as a player-coach for SpVg Beckum . In his first season he led the club in the district league Hellweg to the championship and with the subsequent and successful promotion round to the Landesliga Westfalen , to which the club belonged until the Association League Westphalia was created in 1956 .

National team

For the senior national team, he played 17 international matches in three years. He made his debut on March 20, 1938 in a 2-1 victory over Luxembourg in Wuppertal . His last international match on October 5, 1941 was lost in Solna 2: 4 against Sweden .
