Hans Liberg
Hans Liberg (born April 18, 1954 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch pianist, composer and comedian.
Life
Inspired by his grandmother's piano playing , he had his first contact with music at an early age . The piano and guitar were the instruments that he had already mastered during his school days. He later learned the clarinet , banjo and trumpet . At the age of 18 he began studying musicology in Amsterdam. He wrote his diploma thesis on the subject of scat vocals .
In 1981 he played his first play, a half-hour cabaret program that apparently had no title. Since then, the entertainer has been touring with his programs through Central Europe and the USA and, thanks to his multilingualism, can entertain the local audience in their native language.
On his website he describes himself as "the new Victor Borge ".
He lives near Amsterdam with his wife and three children.
program
Hans Liberg's programs are not complete interpretations of pieces. The pieces are only played so that the audience can recognize the works: Hans Liberg takes compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach , Frédéric Chopin , the Beatles and many other composers into account . He compares the soft French ( Claude Debussy - Clair de lune) with the hard German moonlight ( Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata). Seamless transitions between different stylistic epochs or composers are a specialty. With less appropriate comparisons, humorous interludes and sometimes twisted information ( Andrew Lloyd Mozart ) he creates an entertaining program, which, however, requires a certain basic musical education of the audience.
On stage there are also swipes against the musical activities of Richard Clayderman , André Rieu and Helmut Lotti . “All just envy!” Was his own comment.
