Hans Maahn

Hans Maahn (born December 18, 1953 in Berlin ), artist name Hans Bäär , is a German musician from Wuppertal . He is a bass player, writer & producer. His artistic career has a common origin with his brother Wolf Maahn .

history

Together with his brother Wolf, Hans Maahn founded the Food Band in 1974 . In the following year he became a permanent member of the Hoelderlin group , which soon after joining was one of the most active live bands in Germany at the time. His instrumental skills were quickly recognized and Hans became a sought-after musician both in the studio and for touring. He played on Ina Deter 's first album, with Arno Steffen and Fehlfarben and Marianne Rosenberg .

When Hoelderlin separated in 1981, he founded the band Kowalski , played a. a. with Annette and Inga Humpe as well as with Joachim Witt and since 1982 with Gianna Nannini . After the breakup of Kowalski in 1987, "Fred Banana" with their fourth album became his project the following year. In the same year he resumed collaboration in the studio and on stage with his brother Wolf Maahn for “Third Language”. In Cologne he worked with LSE, Tommy Engel and Gerd Köster , with whom he was on stage from 1995 and also took part in the Cologne stages in the off-Broadway musical Hedwig & the angry inch .

It followed u. a. the albums Frisch (2004) and Jedrisse, Baby (2007). In 2005 he got involved in The Element Project , the soundtrack of TRIP - Remix your Experience was released in 2006. Together with Michael Bruchmann, he revived Hoelderlin with a show for the Rockpalast in 2005 , performed at the “Herzberg Festival” in 2006 and released album 8 in 2007 .

In 2007 he led a. a. with Gianna Nannini on the music of her opera PIA as part of a PR tour . 2008 followed GiannaBest album & tour in 2009 Giannadream - Album & Tour. In 2009 he also played at the live premiere of the Sgt. Pepper album (Beatles) with band & orchestra in Hamburg a. with Gianna Nannini at the Amiche per l'abruzzo concert in Milan for the victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo. Since 2010 he has been touring a. a. with the Fehlfarben , Frank Fabry's "Chanson Skurril", the "Kings Of Floyd" and the Cologne singer Tommy Engel. With the formation Starbust he played a. a. Soundtracks.
