Hans Michael Franke
Hans Michael Franke (born September 26, 1963 in Hanau ; † November 14, 2014 in Sinsheim -Weiler) was a German sculptor .
life and work
Hans Michael Franke lived and worked in Sinsheim-Weiler. He trained as a stonemason from 1983 to 1986 and then studied sculpture from 1988 to 1993 with Professor Hiromi Akiyama at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe . Since 1988 he has participated in four sculpture symposia, such as the Oggelshausen sculpture symposium in 2000 in Oggelshausen .
Franke has participated in exhibitions in Germany, Hungary, France and Switzerland since 1992. In 1994 he received the sponsorship award from the Baden-Württemberg Artists Association.
Since 2007 he has been a member of the art commission of the state of Baden-Württemberg and a member of the artist group Neue Gruppe in the Haus der Kunst in Munich .

Franke hollowed out his sculptures and created stone frames as large sculptures. He works exclusively with natural stone . The presence of interior spaces is important to him. Large sculptures by Franke can be found in:
