The Oggelshausen Sculpture Symposium took place for the first time in 1969 in Oggelshausen near Bad Buchau am Federsee in Baden-Württemberg and was continued in the following year. After 30 years it could take place again in 2000. The sculptures are set up on the way from Oggelshausen to Bad Buchau.

Symposia 1969/1970

The first symposium in Oggelshausen with 15 sculptors took place in 1969 on the initiative of G. Laib, a doctor from Biberach , and the sculptor Elmar Daucher . Participants in 1969/1970 were:

Symposium 2000

The sculpture symposium held from mid-September to mid-October 2000 took part in ten sculptors who all worked on the same natural stone, Gauinger travertine . It is sintered lime from Gauingen that is broken not far from the venue. By using this local stone, it was intended that the sculptors incorporate the environment and adapt to the character of the stone from the u. a. the nearby Zwiefalten monastery was built.

The sculptors worked on the sculptures for four weeks and the sculptures were set up from Oggelshausen in the direction of Bad Buchau. The art history symposium was accompanied by Andrea Wolter-Abele and was supported by numerous sponsors, including funding from the European Union . The rock is relatively soft, provided it was extracted in the quarry shortly before, and then hardens further. The participants in 2000 were:

Sculpture path

The four-kilometer-long Oggelshausen sculpture field initially leads through the village of Oggelshausen to a parking lot for hikers. The sculptures by Patrick Crombé can be found on the left at the entrance to Oggelshausen, by Irma Ortega Pérez in the parking lot next to the road between Bad Buchau and Oggelshausen and by Axel F. Otterbach in front of the Bad Buchau Castle Rehabilitation Clinic at the collegiate church in Bad Buchau .
