Axel F. Otterbach (* 1948 in Isny im Allgäu ) is a German sculptor.

life and work

From 1965 to 1969, Axel Otterbach was a student at the technical school for arts and crafts and design in Munich and from 1973 to 1976 he was trained as a restorer in Ulm . After receiving a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden / Wttbg. In 1979 in Florence and Carrara , he studied with Professor Carlo Nicoli .

Otterbach was a lecturer at the Free Art Academy of Uhldingen-Mühlhofen on Lake Constance from 1998 to 2000 . In 2000 he opened his own atelier / school Otterbach in Bad Waldsee-Osterhofen and in the same year became a lecturer for three-dimensional design at the Academy for Design of the Chamber of Crafts in Ulm .

He led numerous solo exhibitions and participations at home and abroad, took part in international sculpture symposia, such as the Oggelshausen sculpture symposium . Otterbach received commissions in the private, public and church areas, and he also published several publications (catalogs and films).
