TSV 1860 Munich

Oberliga Süd, 1960 to 1963

In 1960, Hans Reich was transferred from the youth department to the “Löwen” contract players in the Oberliga Süd . From 1960 to 1963 he was used in 38 games. He played the first league game on February 5, 1961 in a 3-1 home win against VfB Stuttgart, where he represented the regular Alfons Stemmer on the center stage. In the 1960/61 season he played a total of 4 league games and in the 1961/62 season 26 league games. When he won the title in the last year of the league under coach Max Merkel in 1963, he made eight appearances. In the final round of the German football championship , he was the left runner in the 1: 2 defeat on June 8, 1963 at Borussia Neunkirchen.

Football Bundesliga, 1963 to 1969

In the first round of the Bundesliga in 1963/64, Alfons Stemmer still played the central role in 1860. Reich made seven appearances in this round and also missed the final of the DFB Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt. From the 1964/65 season, Hans Reich was part of the line-up of 1860 Munich. He played all 30 Bundesliga games that season when he finished fourth in 1860. The sporting highlight was the games in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1964/65 . After successes against Union Sportive Luxembourg, FC Porto and Legia Warsaw, Munich moved into the semi-finals against AC Turin . In the playoff on May 5, 1965, 1860 prevailed with a 2-0 win against the Piedmontese to captain Giorgio Ferrini in Zurich. The final match against West Ham United on May 19 at Wembley Stadium in London in front of 97,974 spectators was one of the absolute highlights of Hans Reich's career. The "Hammers", tactically well adjusted by manager Ron Greenwood , won 2-0 after an inspiring game. Hans Reich played all 10 games in the European Cup of the 1964/65 season . In the year of the football world championship in England in 1966 , the “lions” brought the German championship to Munich. Reich came to 26 missions. In a championship team in which the national players predominated, besides Reich only Otto Luttrop and Manfred Wagner were no senior national players in the regular formation , he was responsible for the organization of the defensive. In the European Exhibition Cup, Munich played against Malmö FF, Servette Geneva and Chelsea London. As the defending champion, the “Löwen” landed in second place in 1967, they had to be content with the runner-up behind Eintracht Braunschweig. Reich made 23 appearances in this round. In November 1966, the champions were eliminated in the 1860 European Cup against Real Madrid ( Zoco , Sanchis , Pirri , Amancio , Gento ) and coach Max Merkel switched to 1. FC Nürnberg during the round. In the Europa Cup of the 1967/68 season, Hans Reich experienced a "black hour" with the 0: 8 defeat at Liverpool FC . After 32 missions in the 1968/69 season, the defensive conductor moved to the Offenbacher Kickers in the Regionalliga Süd .

Offenbach, Linz, 2nd Bundesliga

With the Hessians he immediately celebrated winning the title in the 1969/70 round in the south and then prevailed in the promotion round to the Bundesliga in front of VfL Bochum and rose. Reich played 36 games in the Regionalliga Süd. He won the DFB Cup with Kickers Offenbach in 1970 . On January 3, 1970, the OFC started with a 4-1 victory against their old club 1860 Munich in the first cup main round. The Offenbachers reached the final via Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Nürnberg. This took place on August 29, 1970 in Hanover against 1. FC Cologne. The central defense with Hans Reich and Egon Schmitt was a guarantee for a 2-1 success against Cologne. In the Europa Cup, Reich and Offenbach were eliminated in September / October 1970 against Club Bruges . The technically good defender made a total of 26 European Cup appearances. In the 1970/71 season he played 21 Bundesliga games for the OFC. He then moved to the Austrian National League for SK VÖEST Linz in 1971 , where he became Austrian champion in 1974 . In the runner-up in 1974/75, he only played four league games. In total, he made 92 league games in Linz from 1971 to 1974. Hans Reich spent the end of his career from 1974 to 1976 at TSV 1860. He played 69 games in the 2nd Bundesliga South.

Internationally, he represented the colors of the DFB once on May 25, 1965 in Freiburg in the international match against England in the U23 junior national team. In the 1-0 victory, he formed the runner row with Ludwig Müller and Dieter Kurrat .
