Hans Ludwig Friedrich Christian Sivkovich (born June 17, 1881 in Wismar , † December 9, 1968 in Berlin ) was a liberal German politician ( FVP , DDP ).

Life and work

Hans Sivkovich, who was of Evangelical Lutheran faith , studied theology, philology, economics and history in Rostock , Erlangen , Berlin and finally again in Rostock after graduating from high school in Wismar from 1899 to 1902 . During his studies he joined the Theological Student Association . In 1902/03 he headed the alumni in Güstrow , then he was a scientific assistant teacher in Bützow until 1905 , before he was rector of the Lübz city ​​school for a year . From 1906 to 1918 he was a senior teacher at the teachers' college in Lübenheen . There Sivkovich u. a. the later writer Friedrich Griese (1890 to 1975).

Sivkovich was involved in the "Society for Social Reforms".

Political party

Sivkovich belonged to the Progressive People's Party in the Empire . In 1918 he participated in the founding of the DDP . There he was a member of the executive state board.

MP

From 1912 to 1918 Sivkovich was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Hagenow - Grevesmühlen . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . Then he was again a member of the Reichstag until May 1924 . In 1919/20 he was also a member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

Public offices

From November 9, 1918 to July 14, 1920, Sivkovich was Minister of State for Spiritual, Educational and Medical Matters and for Art (from October 6, 1919 State Minister for Education, Art, Spiritual and Medical Matters) in Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

He died in 1968 as the last remaining member of the Imperial Diet.
