Hans Wilderotter

Hans Wilderotter (* 1949 in Heidelberg ) is a German cultural and art historian and until 2014 was a professor at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in the field of design , museum studies and museum management and communication.

biography

After graduating from high school, Wilderotter studied ethnology , history and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin (FU) from 1969 to 1973 . From 1974 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Ethnology at the Free University of Berlin. After studying abroad, he returned to the Free University in 1979 as a lecturer and at the same time held lectures at the Berlin University of the Arts .

In 1985 he worked as a research assistant at the Berliner Festspiele GmbH, from where he moved to the Museum for Art and Cultural History in Dortmund in 1987 . At the same time, he also worked as a research assistant at the cultural office in Bonn .

In 1989 Wilderotter took over the exhibition management at the German Historical Museum in Berlin (DHM Berlin) and from 1994 worked in the same position for the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden .

From 1995 to 2014 he was a professor at the University of Technology and Economics in Berlin.
