The Hansjakobweg I , also called the Kleiner Hansjakobweg, is a three-day circular hiking route in the central Black Forest . It begins and ends in Schapbach, a suburb of the Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach community , between Wolfach and Freudenstadt .
The approximately 44-kilometer hiking trail is named after the Baden folk writer and pastor Heinrich Hansjakob (1837–1916). The path was inaugurated in 1981 and is maintained and looked after by the Black Forest Association.
The hiking trail leads to the scenes of Hansjakob's stories Erzbauern (1899), Waldfolk (1897) and evening bells . The way sign is a white diamond with a black Hansjakobhut, the headgear with which Hansjakob is depicted in many contemporary pictures and photographs. Explanatory boards are attached to all sights, mainly relating to the life and stories of Hansjakob.
