The Hotzenwald-Querweg is a two-day 46-kilometer hiking route through the southern Black Forest from Schopfheim to Waldshut . The term Hotzenwald for the area traveled through is derived from Joseph Victor von Scheffel's novel Der Trompeter von Säckingen . The hiking trail is maintained and looked after by the Black Forest Association. His signpost is a white and black diamond on a yellow background.

Brief description

The Hotzenwald-Querweg leads from Schopfheim in the Wiesental over the Dinkelberg and through the Wehratal with the Wehra reservoir to Herrischried . On the second day, the hike goes from there through the Murg and Alb valley to Waldshut. The mountains between the valleys offer magnificent views of the Upper Rhine, the Swiss Jura and the Alps in the south and the mountains of the Black Forest in the north.
