Harald Hudak (born January 28, 1957 in Vaihingen an der Enz ) is a former German middle-distance runner .

In 1974 he was the German youth champion and in 1977 the German junior champion in the 1,500 meter run .

On August 17, 1977 in Cologne he was part of a German quartet ( Thomas Wessinghage , Hudak, Michael Lederer , Karl Fleschen ), which set a world record in the 4 x 1,500 meter relay race with 14: 38.8 min . This record was only broken on September 4, 2009 in Brussels by a Kenyan quartet ( William Biwott Tanui , Gideon Gathimba , Geoffrey Kipkoech Rono , Augustine Kiprono Choge ) (14: 36.23 min).

In a national comparison, Harald Hudak always had to admit defeat to Thomas Wessinghage . On August 27, 1980, he achieved a time of 3: 31.96 minutes behind him in a 1500-meter run in Koblenz . This puts him in second place in the all-time German best list (as of the end of the 2009 season). He still holds the European junior record with 5: 04.4 min over 2000 m, run on June 30, 1976 in Oslo.

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1979 in Vienna, he finished sixth over 1500 m (3: 45.9 min), and in 1980 he won the open English championship (AAA Championships) over 5000 m (13: 51.71 min)
