The Hardau is a 17 kilometer long river in the Lüneburg Heath that flows through the Hardau valley in the communities of Suderburg and Uelzen .

course

The Hardau rises near the museum village Hösseringen . It feeds the mill pond in Hösseringen and is dammed in the Hardausee . About 4 kilometers downstream the Hardau flows over a weir and through a disused water mill . Between Suderburg and Holxen there are some fish ponds near the Hardau. In Holxen, the Hardau flows at the confluence of the Stahlbach through another watermill and on to the Uelzen district of Holdenstedt , which it flows around to the east, before flowing northeast of Holdenstedt into the Gerdau .
