Harlœ or Harloe (* 1992 in Queens , New York ; real name: Jessica Ashley Karpov ) is an American R&B singer and songwriter .

Life

Jessica Ashley Karpov was born in Queens, New York in 1992. She has Russian and Romanian roots. Her sister Suzanne Karpov is an opera singer . Ashley attended Lynbrook High School in Lynbrook , New York, which she graduated in 2010. She then studied performing arts at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University .

Her musical career began in 2009. During her high school years, she published several cover versions on YouTube . In 2012 her debut EP Prelude was released under the name Jessica Ashley on iTunes . From this EP she decoupled three singles and had videos created for them, which reached more than a million YouTube and Vevo views. Singer and model Juston Gaston , her boyfriend at the time, starred in the video for Neverland . She was signed to M2V ( Epic Records ) in 2014 . In 2016, their first single, All in My Felings, was released as Harlœ.

She is currently working on her debut album with Evan Bogart and Eman Kirakou .

Together with Robin Schulz , she released the single All This Love in 2019 , which reached number 26 in the German single charts.

In addition to her own music career, she wrote songs for JoJo , MKTO , Maude , Madison Beer , Charli XCX , Britney Spears and Leona Lewis, among others .
