Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man (original title: Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man ), which can also be found under the alternative title Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (e.g. on the German DVD), is an action comedy by director Simon Wincer from 1991.
Despite the good cast, the film was a financial flop, but today it has a certain cult status .
action
The two bikers Harley Davidson and Marlboro Man want to help an old friend raise $ 2.5 million for the lease extension of his bar. On the spur of the moment, they and a couple of friends raid a money transporter from the bank to which the rent is to be paid. After the robbery, they realize that they have stolen a load of novel drugs, not money, because the bank is really just the disguised headquarters of a powerful drug dealer.
Since they do not want to become drug dealers themselves, they try to exchange the drugs at the bank for 2.5 million dollars, which at first even succeeds. However, they are now being hunted by the drug lord's killer squad. Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man have luck on their side and in the end even manage to get into the villain's office and make it harmless.
criticism
Lexicon of international film : Formally unambitious action comedy, staged in the form of a modern western (set in 1996), which, thanks to its wit and some ironic refractions, provides solid entertainment.
